Blount Small Ship Adventures, formerly American Canadian Caribbean Line or ACCL, was founded by Luther Blount to "go where the big ships cannot." The company's small ships offer an informal atmosphere and personalized service similar to cruising on your own private yacht. Blount cruises the Mississippi, Tennessee, Ohio, Illinois and Cumberland Rivers, as well as other canals and waterways that feed into these rivers.
Blount's ships feature a bow ramp, which allows for disembarkation on remote river banks. Shore excursions might include biking and horse-drawn carriage rides, and historians are available to share their knowledge.
Back onboard, tasty local cuisine is served in the onboard dining room. Refreshments are available all day, though alcoholic beverages are not available for purchase onboard. You are also always welcome to bring your own beverages; mixers and storage are available in the lounge.
River cruises are rated according to the quality of the vessel and its accommodations, the number of included amenities and activities both on and off the ship, and the level of service delivered. Blount river cruises are categorized as deluxe on the industry rating scale (budget, first class, deluxe and luxury).
